I
The island

A quiet side of Koh Phangan.

Slow mornings, empty coves, a ten-minute drive between anywhere. Here's what the island looks like away from the crowd — the beaches worth the drive, the viewpoints, and what the island feels like when you settle in.

Getting here

Three routes to the island.

i

Fly to Koh Samui, ferry over.

The fastest route. Fly to Koh Samui Airport (USM), then take a 30-minute ferry from Bangrak Pier to Thong Sala. We'll arrange the whole transfer for you.

ii

Via Surat Thani.

A cheaper option. Fly to Surat Thani (URT), then a bus and ferry combo (about four hours total). Night ferries also run from Donsak Pier.

iii

From Koh Tao.

Island-hopping? High-speed catamarans run daily from Koh Tao (about 45 minutes) — a common route for divers heading south.

Tell us your flight details when you book and we'll line up the transfer. Full route guide from Bangkok →

Beaches

The quiet ones.

Skip the crowded south. Thong Nai Pan, Bottle Beach, Haad Salad, Sri Thanu — these are the beaches we send guests to.

Thong Nai Pan

Twin bays on the northeast. Soft sand, calm water. A favourite of ours.

Bottle Beach

Secluded, reached by longtail boat or a jungle walk. Worth the effort.

Haad Salad

Quieter swimming beach on the west coast, with snorkelling just offshore.

Sri Thanu

West-coast sunsets and a slower, wellness-oriented pace in the village.

Mae Haad & Koh Ma

A sandbar at low tide leads to a small island. Shallow snorkel.

Haad Yao

A long, wide beach with a mix of families and longer-stay travellers.

What people do here

Slower things.

Koh Phangan is known internationally for its yoga and wellness scene. Outside of that, there's a lot of jungle, a handful of waterfalls, two viewpoints worth the hike, and food markets we'll happily point you to.

Yoga & wellness
Sri Thanu and Haad Yao have the highest concentration of studios. Day classes are easy to drop into; longer retreats book out weeks ahead.
Snorkel & dive
Mae Haad, Koh Ma, and Haad Yao have shallow reefs. Divers go to Sail Rock, between Phangan and Koh Tao.
Waterfalls
Than Sadet (on the east coast) and Phaeng Waterfall (inland) — both in thick jungle. Best right after rain.
Food markets
Thong Sala Saturday market and Pantip for weekday dinners. Ask us for a current list — some close unpredictably.
Viewpoints
Khao Ra is the tallest point on the island. Dome Silent Rock is a shorter walk with a wider view.
